Goodbye, San Diego, and Hello, New York (again)
Our beloved friend and longtime Catholic Worker Jesuit Father Gil Gentile left San Diego at the end of August for an assignment in New York. For many years he had been our chaplain and notably the chef andOur beloved friend and longtime Catholic Worker Jesuit Father Gil Gentile left San Diego at the end of August for an assignment in New York. For many years he had been our chaplain and notably the chef and chief cook for our annual fundraising dinner, dishing up his famous Italian meatballs and spaghetti. The last time he left us for New York, we thought we’d not see him again. Well, we were wrong as he was reassigned to return to San Diego a few years later. We’re praying the same will happen again. The sooner the better.
